Welcome to the Upstate of South Carolina! Choosing where to live is a pretty big decision, especially for newcomers who may be unfamiliar with a particular area or city. The good news is that you can’t go wrong with the Upstate which includes the major cities of Greenville and Spartanburg and many smaller towns including Anderson, Seneca, Easley, Travelers Rest, Greer, Taylors, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Ft Inn, Boiling Springs, and Gaffney, just to name a few. It has an award-winning revitalized downtown that is home to more than 80 restaurants and over 130 retail shops and boutiques. There are numerous cultural and fun events to attend all year round including the Carolina Ballet Theatre, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and Chorale, Greenville County Museum of Art, The Children’s Museum, The Peace Center for the Performing Arts (offering great symphony and theatrical performances, including Broadway shows) and the Bon Secur Arena, that attracts major recording artists. The area’s temperate climate and location make it a wonderful place for residents to participate in year-round activities such as hiking, boating, fishing, golf, and tennis. Whether you like to get out there and play or sit on the sidelines, the area is big on sports. If you like college sports, then you have many selections including Clemson University, University of South Carolina Upstate, Furman University, or Wofford College.
